| The Instructors at EdNet Career Institute are proud to offer
a unique hands-on computer learning system. Upon completion each Microsoft
Courseware Module and passing the related exam, students prove their
competency by performing the tasks associated with that exam. Through
rigorous exercises in a monitored environment, students gain practical
ability as they progress through our intern residency. Developed by
Cliff Myers, a Microsoft Certified Trainer and highly regarded IT
instructor, the EdNet Undergraduate A.D.E.P.T. Program not only aids
students in self-assessment, but also enables them to demonstrate
their newly acquired skills and expertise. Additionally, employers
recognize these skills as being equal to real-world expedience, and
are assured of employee excellence. |
A stepped approach to hands-on
proficiency.
As you know there are many "paper" engineers
in the IT field. This happens when a student equates book
knowledge with actual hands-on experience. Our muti-tiered
approach builds this experience in a concrete way, lending
itself to each student's individual pace. |
|
Based on the Kenpo Karate system, new candidates
are issued a "white-belt" ID badge to be worn while on
campus. As students pass a series of lab exams, the color of the
badge is upgraded. This lets the instructors and fellow students
know where each candidate stands within the program. As they advance
through the belt levels, EdNet students earn valuable work experience
by assisting instructors and mentioning their juniors within the
program. Upon completion of this residency, the graduate is awarded
a private web page on EdNet's it is here that resume, registered
bio , and other accolades may be viewed by the IT industry. The
new "black-belt" is prepared to demonstrate real skills
in a highly competitive industry.

Program Outline
The EdNet lab exam is geared to test the student's hands-on abilities
in relation to the Microsoft exam just completed. The following outline
describes the various levels of testing: |
|
|
| Level 1: Lab Assistant (I) |
(Prerequisite:
Passed 70-210 and 70-215)
The student has achieved MCP status and will now be tested
on the basics of windows 2000 Professional and Server, including
general file maintenance and user/computer account management. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Level 2: Lab Assistant (II) |
(Prerequisite:
Passed 70-210 and 70-215)
Students continue to show hands-on abilities with Windows
2000 Professional and Server, including systems resource security
and other essentials. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Level 3: Lab Assistant
(III) |
(Prerequisite:
Passed 70-210, 70-215, 70-216)
Students must demonstrate
an understanding of Windows 2000 network infrastructure concepts.
These include wide-area implementation using major client/server
services and applets. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Level 4: Lab Coordinator |
(Prerequisite:
Passed 70-210, 70-215, 70-216, 70-217 or 70-218)
At this
point students may have achieved MCSA status. They must now
display their grasp of Microsoft's Active Directory
directory service. This includes advanced user and computer
account management, as well as Group Policy deployment. After
passing this exam, the student has qualified to tutor other
EdNet students who are currently positioned at, or below the
orange level. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Level 5: Senior
Lab Coordinator |
(Prerequisite:
Passed 70-210, 70-215, 70-216, 70-217 and one elective)
By this
level, the intern is ready to proactively design a Microsoft
Windows 2000 network. The lab exercises ask the candidate to
create a complete solution for a fictitious company in a local
area network (LAN) environment. After passing this exam, the
student is qualified to tutor other EdNet students who are currently
positioned at, or below the purple level. Senior Lab Coordinators
are also qualified to deliver lab exams for candidates currently
positioned at, or below the purple belt. |
|

|
|
|
| Level 6: Assistant
Chief Undergraduate |
(Prerequisite:
Passed 70-210, 70-215, 70-216, 70-217 and two electives)
The student
will once again proactively design a solution to meet the needs
of the fictitious company. Here, a wide-area network (WAN) must
be implemented, combining all previously demonstrated skills
with additional, broader techniques. After passing this exam,
the intern is qualified to tutor other EdNet students who are
currently positioned at, or below the Lab Coordinator level.
Assistant chief undergraduates are also qualified to deliver
lab exams to students positioned at, or below the Lab Coordinator
level. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Level 7: Chief
Undergraduate |
(Prerequisite:
Microsoft MCSE 2000 Certification)
Upon successful
completion of our black-badge certification, the student will
have completed the Undergraduate A.D.E.P.T. Program. The candidate
will have shown the necessary skills to implement many common
Windows 2000 concepts in the field. The lab exam features proactive
WAN design amid the complexities of a mixed Windows 2000/NT
environment and an extra strength security model. After passing
this lab exam, the student is qualified to tutor other EdNet
students who are currently positioned at or below the Senior
Lab Coordinator level. Chief Undergraduates are also qualified
